Gerard P. Gloisten
President

Gerard Gloisten joined GBS in 1995 and has been active in the management of the firm for the past ten years. Despite growing up in a large family with his father very involved in the securities industry, Gerard studied Environmental Studies and Planning in college. However, the love of finance was ingrained along with his passion for organization and people. In 1993 he joined Merrill Lynch and in his three years there exceeded all goals set by the firm and was consistently a top quartile performer. When Gerard joined his father, Donald Gloisten in 1995 he explored every position in the firm in order to gain a first-hand, in-depth understanding of both the inner and outer workings. Another enhancement to his skill set was the completion of the 3 year Wharton School of Business Securities Institute program.

Over the last 10 years as President of the firm, Gerard has nearly tripled the number of advisors who now work with GBS. He also opened the Northern California Office, which is now the GBS headquarters for operations, trading, commission/finance and compliance departments. Gerard maintains a book of business and is one of the top 10 producers of the firm. GBS has increased assets threefold since he took the helm. As Gerard manages the firm and its people, he keeps close touch on the experience of the advisor and client alike. The firm now has over $1 billion under management.

Gerard is actively involved in FINRA and interested in maintaining the longevity and growth of small firms in an era of large banking regulation. His primary objective is in navigating GBS into this new era and the changing environment around investments in the 21st century.
