Don Gloisten got his first taste of the stock market as a teen-ager when he got a summer job as a runner on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Having worked many years helping his father in the family grocery store he liked the action of the stock market more than groceries. He was drafted into the Army and after returning from Europe where he served he returned to the New York Stock Exchange. Being too "big" to go back as a runner he was employed in the Examination and Compliance Department. With the GI Bill of Rights he completed his BA in Finance at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York and with the financial assistance of the New York Stock Exchange he attended night school at Seton Hall Law School. After graduation and the bar he was hired by Jack Dreyfus of the Dreyfus Fund, which at that time was a small mutual fund. His position was House Counsel and he handled most of the day to day legal matters of the fund.  When Don’s intended and future wife Mary moved to California with her parents he followed and they were married in California and raised five children . One of the children is Gerard who entered the securities business thru Merrill Lynch and now serves as President of GBS Financial.

Don decided not to pursue a career as a lawyer in California but rather became a partner of Glore Forgan W.R Staats & Co, one of the oldest firms in California at that time. The president was Morrie Stans who was appointed by President Nixon to be a member of his cabinet in the form of Secretary of Commerce. This allowed Don to become active in a number of behind the scenes political activities during the Nixon years. Later Don joined Bateman Eichler where he served as  Training Director and hired and trained over 500 Registered Representatives. Following Batemen Eichler he joined Wedbush Morgan Securities in Los Angeles as Vice President and General Counsel. In 1985 he formed GBS Financial with two other men and the firm has grown many fold since that time. In 1988 he bought out the partners and ran the firm by himself. For almost 30 years Don taught night classes in Investments at UCLA which help him develop a large and loyal clientele. He currently resides in Ventura where he runs the southern division of GBS Financial. He is treasurer of Northridge Hospital Foundation and on the board of a number of charitable organizations in the area.

For hobbies he plays his Steinway piano every day, goes fishing whenever he can and rides his bicycle along the beach EVERY DAY for 45 minutes to one hour rain or shine. He is active in the management of GBS Financial while managing a book of clients with assets north of 50 million and serves as an Arbitrator for the Financial Investment Regulatory Authority (FINRA), formerly the NASD.
